Kune
Kune is a movement and training method developed by the company Kernel Dance Theatre and delivered in workshop format. It enhances body awareness through techniques drawn from contemporary dance and martial arts, aiming to help participants discover, explore, and develop their instincts, perception, and physical capabilities.
Together with the designer Mireia Herrero, I was commissioned to develop the visual identity for Kune. We worked closely with the client throughout the project, starting with a brief, contra-brief, and look & feel to align on direction and deepen our understanding of their goals. As a result, we designed a visual identity that captured the movement and dynamism of the Kune method. We created a sense of power and impact through a reduced colour palette, complemented by a photographic series aligned with the visual language. The imagery featured the three founders of the method, highlighting their talent and presence. By combining these elements, we aimed to present an honest and impactful representation of the project.
The photoshoot took place on the streets of Barcelona, where the company is based, to convey a sense of authenticity and connection to place. We also delivered a comprehensive set of images, anticipating both present and future communication needs. To ensure consistency and autonomy, we provided custom social media templates with a flexible grid system, enabling Kernel Dance Theatre to produce their own materials with ease.
